We are looking for individuals who will share some of their time, energy and skills by becoming respite-care contractors with our agency. The demands on a family that has a child or adult family member with a developmental disability are often very challenging. Home Share Providers
Home Share providers are people who open their homes to provide residential care and support to an individual with a developmental disability. They come from a variety of backgrounds and represent the cultural and ethnic diversity that makes Victoria a community. Home Share providers are committed to the principles of community living and strive to promote an inclusive community for everyone. Depending on the needs and wishes of the individual, Home Share providers will assist with relationship building, life skills, daily living skills, meal preparation, personal care and community access. Skilled Home Share Caregiver Needed
Skilled caregiver needed to provide a home for a young adult male with a moderate developmental disability who requires daily living support and help to transition throughout the day to his day program at UVIC and other activities. Skilled support related to PDD-NOS and mental health is required. A home with a small suite or bedroom, a sitting area for personal living space, and no young children is suitable.
